Learn to walk before you run．先学走，再学跑。
这句谚语的意思是说不论学习什么或做什么工作，都应先易后难，循序渐进。如果未学走先学跑，是急功近利，想一步登天是不可能的。
英文近义的谚语还有：

按部就班，循序渐进。《礼记·劝学》篇中说：“不积跬步，无以至千里；不积小流，无以成江海。”（古称举足一次为“跬”，连续两次为“步”）也是循序渐进的意思。
